$50 Girlls Bathroom Makeover BUDGET DIVA

$50.00 Girls Bathroom makeover
Budget Diva

I really needed to redo my sweet little 6 year old boring bathroom! It is a very nice bathroom but I needed a budget "pick me up". Here's the bathroom before...

Like I said, it's just plain! So we needed to come up with a theme together. My 6 year old daughter is in LOVE with animal print ( I wonder why :P ) so we decided to go with zebra print. I set a budget for $50.00. That would include EVERYTHING! (Shower curtain, shower curtain rings, rugs, toothbrush holder, organizers, decor, etc)

I went to three stores:

1. Goodwill
2. Ross
3. Dollar Store
( I also had to order her custom name wall decal online)

I wanted to makeover the wood cabinet but didn't want to paint it because kids change there minds as they grow up! So I found this zebra print locker/wall adhesive. Perfect!!! I cut strips to fit into the cabinet doors and walla! A 7 dollar cabinet makeover.

Zebra Print Wall Adhesive: $6.99 (Ross)

There were no place to hang any hand towels. So I found a towel rack at goodwill for 3.99. I spray painted the ends with left rustroleum "hammered" black spray. Then I covered the rest with the zebra print duck tape I found at the dollar store. A 5 dollar hand towel project!

 Hand towel rack: $3.99 (Goodwill)
Zebra print duck tape: $1.00 (dollar store)
Zebra hand towels: $5.99 (Ross)

I found this cute set of poodle bathroom accessories at the goodwill. SCORE! Perfect! And at the dollar store they had cotton swabs already in this cute plastic container. I just wrapped duck tape around it to match everything else. About $4.50 for all that!

Cotton Swap Holder: $1.00 (dollar store)
Poodle Tooth brush holder: $.49 (Goodwill)
Poodle cotton ball holder: $2.97 (Goodwill)

Above the toilet really needed to most work. I had a shelf that I saved from a broken TV cabinet. I used that and brackets I had stored to make a shelf above the toilet. Used my daughter Easter basket (since you only use it once a year anyway!) to store her extra hand towls in. Found this awesome skull canvas print at goodwill for $2.47, so of course I snatched that right up. :)

Skull canvas picture: $2.47 (Goodwill)

Her bathroom needed to be personalized. I searched on online and on EBay I found a person that does custom wall decals for only $5.99. PERFECT!

Name wall decal: $5.99 (eBay)

Anyone that has little girls know you have a million different hair ties, hair bows, head bands, hair clips, etc. I needed them to be organized and stored so both my daughter and I could have easy access to them. I went to the dollar store and got these 3 bins. I also had these little desk organizers laying around that I used inside of the bins.

3 storage bins: $3.00 (dollar store)

And last but not least. I needed a shower curtain and bath mats. I knew it would be hard to find zebra print at goodwill. And shower curtains alone will cost you around 25 bucks! So Ross it was! I found a WHOLE set for only $16.99. That included the shower curtain, shower curtain hooks, a bath mat, and a toilet bath mat.
Bath Set: 4: $16.99 (Ross)

And here is the result:

My daughter loves it and I am pretty happy with the $50.00 result!

Here is a list of all the items and then end cost:

$8.00 Fish Tank Makeover Budget Diva

$8.00 Fish Tank Makeover
Budget Diva

My husband came home one day with a 75 gallon fish tank ( for free!! ) and put it rigggghhhht in the dining room.   It was beautiful inside with all the fish and natural decor but the outside was just an eyesore! So big and bulky and had a 1980s wood paneling look.

The fake wood fish tank look just had to GO! Pronto!

Time to shop for the cheapest materials!!! My favorite!

Habitat for Humanity:
- quarter used gallon if black paint $1.00
- half used chrome spray paint $.50

Dollar store:
-Drop cloth $1.00
- 2 paint rollers $2.00
- 1 paint liner $1.00
- 2 rolls of blue tape $2.00

=$7.50 plus tax!

I started by stripping off the fake wood wallpaper with a knife. Then did two coats of black paint and........

Wala!!! Super fabulous and goes with with dining room decor. I couldn't be happier with the tank and the price! Until next time...stay fabulous :)
